James M. Wilson III, PhD, graduated with degrees in psychology and philosophy from Clark University; his MBA, an MS in resource economics, and PhD in strategic management are from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is also a graduate of the Exeter Humanities Institute and a Six Sigma Blackbelt.

Dr. Wilson began his career at the Massachusetts Institute for Social and Economic Research as a senior project analyst directing the forecasting division. There he developed decision support software and data analytics that gained national attention; those innovations evolved into a start-up: Data and Decision Analysis. As an entrepreneur he has founded and sold a number other businesses in software development. In 2008, Technology Pathways Corporation, a company he founded, was sold to SunGard, a Fortune 500 company.

Currently Dr. Wilson is Associate Professor of Entrepreneurial Thinking and Innovative Practices at Bay Path College, where he teaches research methods and strategy.

Dr. Wilson’s consulting roster includes a range of small companies and start-ups grappling with business processes, management systems, innovation, franchising, data-driven decision making and other issues of organizational change. He also founded and manages Chen Chen Wilson, a firm dedicated to connecting small businesses to Chinese manufacturing resources.
